Your fleet, categories, and extra services

  1. Your fleet, categories, and extra services

In car rental, the items sold are individual vehicles: the system calculates availability for each vehicle separately, so if you have two vehicles of the same model, add them separately. Opening a single record and writing the quantity disrupts the availability calculation and leads to double bookings.

  2. The three tabs have different functions

Vehicles are your individually rented assets. Categories (economy, SUV, commercial) are the groups customers filter by on the online page — a vehicle without a category is excluded from searches. Extra services are add-ons charged daily or as a one-time fee; an item marked "daily" is multiplied by the rental days, if not marked, it's charged once per rental.

  3. If "Can Be Rented Online" is off, the vehicle is invisible

This is the most common situation: the vehicle is in the panel but customers can't find it on your website. The reason is this mark being off, and the sample vehicle that comes with the panel is deliberately set this way. When you truly open the vehicle for sale, you must turn on both this and the "active" mark. The deposit field is not collected with the rental fee; it's the amount you'll block at delivery.

  4. Badges show the vehicle's sales status

If a row has "active" but no "online" badge, that vehicle can only be used in reservations you manually enter. Instead of deleting a vehicle going for maintenance, turn off its active status: past reservation records and income reports remain intact.
