Services are the backbone of your calendar
Services are the backbone of your calendar
The duration of a service directly determines how many minutes it occupies in the calendar and how many options are shown to the customer. Entering a duration shorter than actual leads to overlapping appointments, while longer durations result in unsellable empty slots — so write the actual time spent.
Buffer time and staff-specific pricing
The "before" and "after" buffer fields in the form are not shown to the customer but occupy space in the calendar: it's the time set aside for cleaning, preparation, or airing the room. Also, when assigning a service to multiple staff, you can enter separate durations and prices for each — a senior employee might do the same job in 30 minutes and charge more. Empty fields use the base value.
Read the badges on the cards
A service with the "Manual Only" badge never appears on your online page; it's a service only you can enter by phone — ideal for consultations or jobs with special pricing. "Inactive" means the service is completely closed. Making a service inactive instead of deleting it preserves past appointment records.
Resources
a limit on places, not people: A resource is a physical thing like a room, chair, device, or table that can be used by a limited number of people at the same time. Even if you have five staff, if you have two rooms, enter the room resource with a capacity of 2 and link it to the service; the system won't accept a third appointment at the same time. If staff are available but you have no place, this is the only mechanism preventing double booking.
